I've said it before but my god, original Star Trek is the slashiest thing ever. Who do people threaten first to intimidate Kirk? Who is Kirk almost constantly having well within personal space conversations with? The Kirk/Spock, it is to love. But to be fair, most everyone onboard seems to flirt with Spock at least a little. Well, wouldn't you?

Notes to self, so it's right at the fingertips: The Holly and the Ivy, If You Are Prepared, Ephemeris, Consequences, A Nick In Time and Growing Pains, Clipped Wings, Dark Chocolate/White Chocolate. Not that I'll have time to read starting tomorrow.

Also, stop reading genius speculation on the rest of the series if you don't want to be splendiferously spoiled.

Oh, and contrary to all of the above, my heart belongs only to all that glitters.

And that's pretty much all I've got for now. Lord help you though if I remember to bring my camera to Miami tonight.

Our hearts are aligned but Picard/Q is far superior to Kirk/Spock.

The Holly and The Ivy - Sequel to Scratch. Eeeep!

If You Are Prepared - Do you know what you're getting into?

Ephemeris and Consquences - Are these Harry/Snape?

A Nick in Time and Growing Pains - Love!!!

Dark Chocolate/White Chocolate - Made a whole post about these this weekend.

*glitters & sparkles* :)

The only fair way of deciding this is that I need to be in the same zip code as you for a week so we watch a proper marathon of episodes and compare notes. *nods* Until then, Kirk/Spock4evah!!1! Because, come now, is there anything more to say after four hours of classic Trek? Except, damn that decaying orbit was a recurrent plot device.

1. Yep, saw your post and jotted the link down immediately.

2. I've a vague idea from you and [livejournal.com profile] kittenfishlambs, but also a strong stomach and a high tolerance for angst. Not pointless angst, but the plot-induced, in-character kind which is a product of good writing, which is easy enough to tell quickly. Also, I loved what you said about it on your recs page.

3. Those two are in fact Remus/Sirius, as recommended by the best friend, who just nodded sagely through my squeeing about them on the train to Edinburgh (having just read Order of the Phoenix). She made a disk of HP recs for me before she left but she's more than willing to amend it now that I'm amenable to the idea.

4. Previous rec by [livejournal.com profile] kittenfishlambs, though I did note them on your list as well.

5. Read that post and am intrigued. Must remember to track down links.

*g* I have the picture of the lot of us drunk and happy on the wraparound couch thing from the Avalon in Boston framed on my dresser. What a kickass ride it's been.

Hahahaha. Too true. (Have you see Galaxy Quest?) And I'm on for a marathon anytime you are. Where in FL are you? I may knock on your door one day. :)

2) Worth the read. Absolutely. But, god, it hurt.

3) Will add these to my reading list.

I have seen Galaxy Quest - Alan Rickman's owned my heart a lot longer than he's been Snape. But I need to see it again now that I get the in-jokes. It's like how I saw Spaceballs looong before Star Wars - still funny, but there's a whole facet you're missing.

My family lives in the Palm Beach area (east coast, about an hour north of Miami), but I go to school in Gainesville (about two hours north of Orlando). When on business, you're usually on the west coast is the impression I got, yes? But hey, if you're in O-Town anytime, just give me a heads up.

Yes, I'm down in Bonita Springs. But I'll definitely let you know if I end up in Orlando.

If I'm not mistaken, Kirk/Spock is what started the whole glorious slash tradition in the first place, long before the Internet came along to enable us to slash anything and everything under the sun. I'm not a Star Trek fan, but if I have Kirk/Spock to thank for slash, I most happily give it all due props.

You've got it absolutely correct, Kirk/Spock is the flagship slash pairing, back when 'zines were confidential mail-order stuff and such inclinations didn't so much as dare breathe their name, much less flaunt it on T-shirts like we do now. And man, if you have a chance to catch a few episodes, it's so worth it. It's a bit like paying tribute, but mostly, it's a lot of fun.
