My coworkers would use stone tablets to bash non-working computers in the office. *g*

It's crazy how things grind to a halt when technology doesn't work.

Our system went down two weeks ago and no one could do anything for five hours. When a coworker suggested using a typewriter to do little things like address envelopes and fill out forms [to pass the time while the system was being fixed], another coworker asked, 'We still have one of those?' We had one typewriter in the entire building but no one really wanted to use it. Everyone was so used to Word.

Heh. Sometimes, it seems like the only way. And then I remember my incurable codependence on my computer and put the blunt object down.

Yeesh. And I love typewriters! Want one of my own, but yes, the mechanics of it, the sounds, the feel!
