Love and Logic Aboard the Starship Enterprise III

And so, while apparent from the first, their love would no longer be denied, and soon you've got stolen moments in hallways:

Taking vacations together, during which Spock gamely acquiesces to Kirk's love of the outdoors for the occasional camping trip. But even the simplest outing can sometimes turn irksome, as Spock's mind is never at rest and has a tendency to overanalyze situations:

Or maybe he's onto something.

Kirk likes to tease:

And sometimes, they have a little too much fun.

"I thought you had the keys!"

Look! I even found a picture from a ship formal!

However! Their jobs always come first:

T'hy'la is a Vulcan word that most nearly duplicates the concept of friend as we know it - however, it can also mean brother and lover. Spock calls Kirk this in the book version of Star Trek: The Motion Picture. (with thanks to Laura Goodwin's essay)

Back to business, they've had arguably some of the most spectacular adventures ever. From harrowing missions involving meeting gods:

To deep cover work that necessitated creative costuming to preserve the Prime Directive:

Sometimes crossing dimensions where bad facial hair and shiny gold shirts and sashes are the rule:

Having doppelganger incidents with somewhat alarming frequency:

But always remaining the pinnacle of cool:

Except when they don't:
