Caught the best part of The Cable Guy before bed the other night. You know the scene I mean, and despite the profound badness of the rest, that one scene makes me grateful to have been enough of a Jim Carrey fan to see it. I think my first trip to Medieval Times at the wee age of... eleven? singlehandedly accounts for my unholy love for Arthurian legend and the Middle Ages.

I could really go for a single new school year without my parents threatening divorce. For a little variety.

Publix was thankfully not the madhouse it could've been given the big nasty coming our way. Running into Logan and Seth was added bonus. One should never go too long without running into the goofy musicians in one's life. Also, whatwith all the frozen goods, we seem to be banking on not losing power. Good plan, I say. And then [livejournal.com profile] silentfire made us pesto pasta for dinner, to which [livejournal.com profile] walkingshadow contributed broccoli and I, chicken. By some small miracle, all parties managed to avoid scalding/unintended chopping/neglecting cooking times as we looked at Harry Potter screencaps and fanart in the process. On a related note, much like [livejournal.com profile] marythefan, I, too, am surprised at my own resurgence of interest in FPS whatwith being convinced I'd never be compelled to stray from RPS just a few months ago. Maybe because creators are a little less callous with breaking the hearts of their audience?

You know, if a relationship means we'll get increasingly doting quotes from JC about Eva, I'm all for it.

Have proclaimed love, hate, and fierce indifference at XP. It stares back at me unfazed and retitles my imported pictures without flinching anyway. However, concensus on my Target-sale-acquired candy-striped comforter is universal.

And a smattering of random:
- FictionAlley is putting together a collaborative-effort Hogwarts: A History. How fucking cool is that?
- I have new, deep love for Crowded House.
- Ben Affleck on SNL next week!
- Paris allegedly gave Justin a table dance at the Concorde before the Emmys last weekend. He was allegedly bored.

I had occasion to remember a bit of footage last night - Beyonce coming offstage from the first Destiny's Child performance in however long and they were all glowing and happy and Beyonce breathlessly telling whatever reporter stopped her that she loved her girls and doing this together again was just as amazing as the first time and how much she loves it. I got a little choked up and decided the oft-difficult life spent in hope would be worth such a spool of video whenever it happened.

And now if you'll excuse me, I have some hunkering to get to for my hurricane of the weekend.

Quotes of the Past Couple of Days:

"Timberlake, you jerk." Chris tosses the remote back on the bed and sits down, scooting back to make himself comfortable. "You stayed home to whack off when you could have been out with me picking up real chicks? Did you forget you're single now?"

"Man, it's too much fucking trouble sometimes."

"Yeah, you and Chasez have the same kind of trouble. I know how hard it is to walk into a room and all."

I need a shirt that says labels are so bourgeois.

A girl in Einstein's smiled and waved at me on Friday morning. I stopped mid-wave because, no, I didn't recognize her. She cocked her head at me and pointedly smiled and waved again. I gave her my best befuddled look. She said, Rachel from my Anthropology class? I shook my head no, but Staci had a much better response: "I am, and I hate you."

Have I ever mentioned my parents seriously considered naming me Monica?

Hee!

I shook my head no, but Staci had a much better response: "I am, and I hate you."

Oh, man. Evil is so much fun.

In other news: Stay safe and dry, and I'll see you Thursday!!!

Hey, you know, I take 'em where and however I can get 'em when it comes to that boy. Does that say something about me? *snerk*

Evil is so, so fun. I wish I had the gall to say half the things she does. What's funny is that she's really sweet generally, and then she'll just bust out with these things.

Thank you kindly. It's so cool outside! The wind and rain and ooh, weather. Of course, I'm not in any danger so far as house and home and there's little chance of power loss, so we're mostly sitting back and enjoying the show and there'll be celebratory alcohol tonight with dinner because there's no school tomorrow. Whoo!

Thursday, man. Cannot wait at all. I get five of my favorite girls, a sparkly road trip, and the promise of Lance bright and early the next afternoon? Man, twenty-two is gonna start with a bang.

Monica's a nice name. It was better before Miss Lewinsky tainted it for a generation.

Stay safe with that hurricane bearing down on you!

It's a perfectly fine name - I'm just glad it's just not mine. Not that I feel like my own name suits me entirely, but that's why I'm Jules outside fandom, too.

Thank you kindly! It's putting on quite a show as we speak. I am not-so-smartly drawn to the windows, but lookit with the wind and rain! I'm perhaps not the best suited for survival in my tribe.
