Polka-dot ties are silly, especially with pinstripe suits, and no, putting two otherwise intelligent men wearing near-identical incarnations thereof in a split-screen shot does not give the fashion merit. Stewart, Colbert, I realize wearing similar clothing goes a long way toward averting suspicion if you grab the other's unmentionables off the floor by mistake, but come on, we have to look at you on television afterward, and not mixing patterns ain't rocket science – it's common courtesy.
