Eggnog is possibly the most delicious of holiday-oriented traditions. It also contains 180 calories, 26% of one's daily allowance of saturated fats, 50mg of cholesterol and 120mg of sodium.

However, the Dairy Farmers of America would like you to note that it has 150mg of calcium as well.

...

And that serving size is HALF A CUP. Who drinks only half a cup of anything but Eastern European moonshine?

f.y.i.: i heard on good eats that egg nog (sans alcohol) is supposed to help get rid of hangovers. (eggs contain the amino acid cysteine, which is a precursor to glutathione, which is a free radical eliminating tripeptide.) you can also get this is supplement form (under the name N-acetyl-cysteine or NAC), and from what ive read online, this seems to be a very effective hangover remedy. this concludes tonights lesson.

Well, that explains the chugging of raw eggs cocktails that next-morning workers are so fond of doing in the movies. And see, all I want to do is scream my fool head off about SALMONELLA, PEOPLE! but it occurs that eggnog isn't exactly cooked either.

And dude. You should totally be my consulting expert when I get my head out of my ass and string three coherent sentences of SGA fic together, 'cause that explanation rocked.
