just finished jenn's Three Impossible Things and i just want to say that so far in all my readings it's been the most believable, happy-ending future!fic i've read. that and you know, beautifully written and deliciously hot. but that's par for the course for her. "I've never been anyone else's"? good god!

MoonBrat42: so a hustler, eh? how so?
Grey Sanctuary: just you fretting and agonizing and whining over your story and then turning around and whipping one out
MoonBrat42: the thing is Watershed's got me all kinds of bothered, like i know what's wrong but not quite how to fix it. last night went a long way to help that, but it's still not how i'd like it to be when i post it to the archive. i hadn't gone out with the clear intent to write, but when i saw the Bradbury title, something just clicked and begged to be written.
Moonbrat42: it was easy; as it's meant to be.
MoonBrat42: adequate substitution
MoonBrat42: a little ego boost
MoonBrat42: it's not me
MoonBrat42: it's the story, you know?
Grey Sanctuary: i know.
it played almost like a categorical imperative: i was in this setting at this time and there was nothing to inhibit the compelling call of pretty words begging to be born.

and now for the good part:
Grey Sanctuary: you have no idea how proud i am
::beams just a bit:: and i fully intend on paying her homage bearing offerings of overly sweet caffeine for the "time and a half" she's been putting in as my personal one-woman pep squad support group.

on making the best of a sucky situation:
Grey Sanctuary: did you say webmail was down?
MoonBrat42: yes
MoonBrat42: all day
MoonBrat42: today of all days
MoonBrat42: argh
MoonBrat42: i hate irony
MoonBrat42: all it seems to do is cause consternation and keep Clark and Lex apart
MoonBrat42: where's the smite of god when you need it?
Grey Sanctuary: ::raises eyebrow::
Grey Sanctuary: you sure you want to be invoking that one?
MoonBrat42: oops
MoonBrat42: i meant the devil
MoonBrat42: god's evil
Grey Sanctuary: lol
and in our slightly leftist world view where the definition of 'extreme goodness' involves the glorious right to exercise our free speech rights and come up slash, we'd be right. the story so far: God eats olives and whole raw tomatoes, likes raisins (especially nestled in perfectly perfect pastries), listens to Musak while surfing AOL and commissions Kevin J. Anderson's writing.

oh, and Hope's latest features a character out of my real life whose adorably oblivious head we all can't help but love. we know you've got it in you, Xiao. ;)
