So I just got off the phone.
Oct. 6th, 2002 01:17 amA wrong number at that, which in and of itself, even less remarkable.
There's a story here.
You see, there are wrong numbers we all dial sometimes. A digit off from the pharmacy and you get a nice old lady in Century Village, or another friend's home number when you meant to call your mom. These things happen. Now, I've had a doctor's office leave a message on my dorm phone whose outgoing message is, in my best imitation of upbeat perk, "hey, you've reached [Jules] and Amanda..." for a married woman regarding her bone scans and that she should call said office right away.
But this might be an even more salient example:
Kids. When you want to start a conversation with "What are you wearing" in that clandestine, gravely voice that indicates you've already started your own fun, make sure the number's right. I could've messed with his head. Probably should've in hindsight. Hell I could probably pull it off better than phone sex operators by this point. Still though, good advice.
lexluvsclark let me in on one of her fabulous new icons! Lex looks for all the world like he's blushing, but somehow, he's managing to keep it to himself. Like the audience is in on it, can see the unspoken words hovering around him that are all snark, you can see it in his eyes, but he's just... well, look!
WinAmp 2.81 is back and here to stay. Infinitely superior in every way imaginable to the new schtuff that throws me the same song every other shuffle, constantly screwing up forward and reverse orders when it's not busy crashing. But it's all good. Sometimes, the original is truly the best.
fourteencandles reaffirmed everything I've ever heard about the members of the popslash community being the most generous of any fandom out there. I added her to my friends list not a week ago and haven't quite made it as far as posting to her journal but today I saw mention of a Boys/Like I Love You conglomeration and IMed her out of the blue about it. She ever so graciously sent me the song, then offered her stash of unreleased Britney and shared finder's info on Tony Lucca. {{hugs}} Hope you found the most stylish, comfortable, and afforable shoes ever.
Mmm. Dinner with Miranda and familial company. Most fabulous blackened shrimp, out-of-season festivity with pumpkin/peppermint ice cream combination, and a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday to me. I think they mean it when they say I'm a part of them and theirs. All my love to my mum, but it's so damn cool to be part of a real family I could just hug them all and never let go.
Have you listened to Flickerstick's unbelievably amazing song Beautiful? Have you really? Because if you have and your heart doesn't feel torn into and bleeding wounds that have not even the remotest chance of healing, then I'd say go have a second spin.
...And I know
And I feel
That I could learn to hate just like you
And I know
And I feel
That you could learn to love just like me...
Also, my night has been made. Yow.

Note to self: Clark watched his mom put the finishing touches on Lex's wedding cake. There's angst like diamonds in South Africa here.
