amazing

just amazing. my mother was right - it was under there all along. i'm sitting on the floor looking up and around at this small pocket of a miracle. the fuzzy new rug beneath my feet, the towering monument of my bed sheltering my myriad shelves and boxes beneath, my closet cheered considerably with the colors of my festive attires, bath stuff for the morning gathered, shower shoes stashed between the shampoo and body wash bottles, douglas on his new perch and making it his own - it's wonderful, the whole arrangement positively charming. my own little cupboard under the stairs, if you will. minus the oppressors, as i am still a college student without a care in the world until tomorrow morning.

the apartment has been successfully subleased and i am finally on campus in the midst of my beloved murphree area - sledd hall to be exact. it's a suite and there's a distinctly gross maldistribution of floor space, but the roommate's really cool and as miranda remarked, i've made the little cubbyhole "my own." look me up when you're in town kids - floor enough for all (twin bed now, sorry!).
