Seventh but no sabbath for the wicked.

Lance is a sexy man, though admittably, one who went through quite a few bleakly awkward phases to get there. The wicked arch of those eyebrows, the slightly effeminate physique all took growing into. But who among us didn't? And while everyone has their favorite particular about him, mine is his voice. Singers are an automatic weakness for me, but the way I can feel his notes along my spine, how his laugh is amusingly higher than you'd expect, the way you *know* it becomes raspy and even pornier when he's turned on, it manages to be both lilting and strong, forming the base (it really is so, so easy) of the much-regaled *NSYNC "round sound."
I'll definitely get more shallow later on, but that's truly my first and hardest love about the boy.
Recommendation was no contest.
Just Push Play by Slim and Without Me
That's not even the hottest thing, though. The way JC was looking at him... that's what Lance really can't forget. The way he sought Lance's eyes out, time and again. God. It was as if he'd wanted to make sure of the effect he was having on Lance. Not because he needed the reassurance, though. It was like he knew how hot he was and he wanted Lance to know it too.
Lance knows. And more than that, he knows he's totally fucked.
Finished this on Sunday and it definitely stands as one of the hottest things I've ever read in my life. The pacing was perfect, the story was excellent (Lance as porn king! Come now, who's not on board?) But what really sealed it - had myself *quite* the little psychosomatic taste reaction somewhere in the middle. That was new. Lance is not smooth, JC isn't as docile as he seems, and Nick gets to two-up Justin! Sweet, sexy, and definitely not average fare here.

You're entirely welcome, but really, I owe, like, a lot more than that one paragraph in the way of commendation about JPP because hot damn! The dialogue was alternately wonderfully witty and sweet. Chris and Joey (both of whom were eminently themselves but not to the caricature extent that some people take them). I loved that both JC and Lance wanted more at the end and weren't afraid to say so. And the hotness just was not to be believed. Your Lance was absolutely perfect, neither the sharky, dispassionate businessman nor the lovesick puppy, still every bit the genuine (I keep using that word) good-natured boy he is. I loved that he knew what he had to say in that bathroom to keep JC in his life, which was a moment of honesty that few authors could've written, or really, would've chosen to instead of having a big, angsty miscommunication fest later on that would've ended with one shutting up the other with a kiss and then a half-discussion in the morning. And like I said before, the pacing was excellent, especially during the sex scenes with balancing out Lance's thoughts with JC's actions. Loved this story, truly, thank you both for writing and sharing.

Date: May 7th, 2003 03:19 pm (UTC)'Like' is a very strong understatement of how wonderful a job I think you two did with JPP. Couldn't even begin to guess how long it took to write, but there was just such a *sense* of everyone, and of course especially Lance.
I left a longer comment above to Susie's reply, but it's meant for both of you. Thanks again for writing and sharing.
