Primping for his 2002 VMA performance. Comparisons be damned, I liked his fedora-style hats phase. They didn't make me cry for covering up his lovely hair. *cough*JC*cough* The concentration on his face is sweet, too - it's a little strange to see how young he was barely a year ago.

Fumble by Georgina

Snick of your zipper, tug at your jeans. Warm breath through your open fly and your spine's curving towards it, and maybe, maybe it wouldn't be so bad after all. Helping a friend out, right? That sounds nice and innocuous.

There are entirely too many things I like about this story. It's set in Europe, that early, forbidden fruit stage of things people love to make such a fuss about. But maybe it's because of that setting and telling the story from this young Justin's point of view who isn't jaded or savvy yet, genuinely experiencing these new things, that makes this story so fluid and the players so believable.

Today is not yesterday, and that can only be good. Broke the two-day looping streak of Everyone Everywhere, and while I love New Order something fierce, that can spiral real fast.

Met with tip sheet partner then Journalism lab guy this morning. Was mostly painless, but apparently, I am being too enterprising for his tastes, even though he likes that about me. I know, right? What does that mean? He seems to mean that he appreciates my broad perspective and willingness to go after stories, but wants me to do it with a narrower (read: local) focus. *grumblegrumble* Apparently, I'm meant for feature and editorial writing. Someone get me the pop culture version of Crossfire and maybe then I can sparkle properly.

The new Lance pictures last night? Guh. Especially the one in the bluesy shirt and the one where he's leaning against the wall reaching to further unbutton his already mostly unbuttoned see-through white shirt. Yeah.

I feel really silly about feeling self-conscious when dancing around in my room because JC can see me from his lofty position above my bed and you just know his two-dimensional poster self is so obviously judging me.

Speaking of the boy, I remember his mentioning forgetting lyrics onstage and how he can just tell the audience to sing and cover that way and my being, weh? Forgetting lyrics to songs you've sung 87628364817 times? But man, the instrumental version of Bye Bye Bye came on the other day and as many times as I've listened and sung along, it's much different when it's just you. It's not just words, either, but timing, pitch without harmonizing, all that good stuff. It ain't easy, yo.

[ETA: Anyone else think this song sounds eerily similar to Luke's theme from Star Wars? Not that Williams isn't notorious for (allegedly, yes, I'm coming to love that word) plagiarizing himself but really now, if you're gonna rip something off, try not to make it something quite that, well, notorious.]

I'm finishing up my CFTC V mood theme within the next few days. I already have about fifteen moods not listed in the drop-down menu that will be supported by this set and I was wondering if there are any moods you find yourself using/needing/wanting that I could also work in. (Theme, upon completion, will be available for public use, mais oui.)

Much obliged!

What does it say about me that I round the penultimate aisle in the grocery store to catch up and upon seeing only our cart but no Miranda, I start singing Gone? Almost as funny as the story of its original inception. *g*

Essentials (Cookie Crisp, Fall TV Preview issue of Entertainment Weekly and the new US) achieved. I had mushrooms and Oreos for dinner. I love college.

So, Kate Beckinsdale is talking about her new vampire/werewolf movie Underworld on The Daily Show. She's saying how vampires in this movie can't be killed by a stake through the heart. To which Jon replies, characteristically deadpan: "So you're telling me your movie is historically inaccurate?" Lovehim!

[livejournal.com profile] without_me and I are having too, too much fun with this mood theme thing. Good times.
