I should've thought this would happen.

What if, less-than-hypothetically, someone were selling my mp3s of JC's show as an audio CD for personal profit?
*seethes*
I made that recording because I knew I couldn't wait the two months until the album officially came out to hear the songs again, an album of which I plan on buying enough copies for a small country. But I wanted to make them available for everyone who wouldn't get the experience and energy of JC live, free to anyone who wanted it. If I'd wanted to, I could've done the eBay thing like so many others, but I never, not for a single moment did it for any kind of glory or profit. And not only is this being done without my permission (not that said individual needs it, as neither one of us owns anything in this scenario) but it's being done for profit, which not only goes against the spirit in which these clips were shared by an extremely generous community of people, but it's something that could well be detrimental in other ways.
Is it ridiculous that I feel as if "my" music has just been reverse-pirated?
Nothing I can do? Didn't think so. *sigh* Live and learn, I suppose.

Date: December 12th, 2003 11:20 am (UTC)I think his offer of 10 DVDs is fucking pathetic. He is going to make a crapload of money off of those CDs. He is a lot cheaper than other bootleggers, but still making a lot of money considering his no frills approach to this business. It probably does not even cost him a dollar to make he's selling for $10 on the audio and a couple of bucks at the most on the DVDs. By the way, keep checking Ebay because he sometimes sells stuff there. They will act on any reports.
