It's really a pity I gave the one zine I had to my professor -- it had illustrations on a desert island and was the height of tacky amusement. Then again, he *did* request it specifically... I shall see about picking up some stuff at Escapade for you, since most K/S stuff (from the days when zines where the only place you could find fic) is classic by now. Heh.

Date: January 19th, 2004 03:51 pm (UTC)Oh, deserted island fic! It's a genre that isn't nearly as exploited as it should be. *hugs Smallville close* I do so love my big gay show again.
Thanks for the Escapade stuff in advance. I didn't even think that most of the Kirk/Spock stuff took place pre-Internet and probably didn't (or at least hasn't) made its way there.
Kirk! Spock! *meeeeeeep*

Date: January 19th, 2004 08:20 pm (UTC)I'm trying to remember who I read back when I read K/S - Raku, Judith Gran, Greywolf, a bunch of other folks. I don't have any recs stored from that time, though Greywolf's "New Minglewood Blues" was one of the first slash stories I read, ever.

Date: January 19th, 2004 03:42 pm (UTC)Though thanks to friends, I'm unable to watch the end of STIII without substituting the dialogue, "You Klingon son! You killed my bastard!"
Trek is the fandom that got me into slash in the first place, though it wasn't the K/S. The first slash story I ever read was a ST:VOY story called "Tom, Dick and Harry."
I really want a Trek icon that says, "My fandom did it all first."

Date: January 19th, 2004 03:55 pm (UTC)Such a very good thing I was done eating the peanut butter cookie one of the girls brought into work before reading that, or it would've ended up all over my monitor. Bwah! I loved the third movie something fierce. But then, same for the first and fourth and, well, yes. It would seem I've succumbed after all these years. Honestly, all people would've had to do was show me some of the early stuff. All this hoopla about Picard, etc. didn't really do it for me, but man, Kirk and Spock? They had me from their first scene in a room together.
I really want a Trek icon that says, "My fandom did it all first."
And it would be a fantastic icon.

Yes. I am a big ST geek. Love it!

Killa's fiction is good--two of her stories, Turning Point and its sequel Full Circle, are probably defining moments in Trek slash. And she has an extensive rec page.
