With a boy, whom I haven't known most of my life (as it happens when you have conjoined elementary/middle/high school campuses.)

Why yes, this would be my first "real" date.

Mike is a senior, tallish but slouches (and really, are there any who don't?) He has dark brown hair that's just long enough to make me want to card my fingers through it. He has a great smile that makes him about three times as handsome as he already is, and I just.

*takes a moment*

He borrowed my notes last week because he'd missed Wednesday's class, so I had his phone number from that. I'm surprised I managed that much - I hadn't even seen him walk in or sit down, even though he was right next to me. So he leans over to my desk and asks if he could borrow them - my reaction time must've only been delayed by a second or two, because he didn't give me a funny look when I finally managed a 'yes.' And as we were standing up, I remembered to ask for the number in case he's flaky or whatever - I wanted to make sure I got my notes back. But mostly, I just squeed to Miranda that the cutest boy in class had asked for my notes and regressed about six years.

So I come in almost late today and he smiles as he hands the notebook back, and I gulp a little because yeah, he's even better-looking without the backwards cap from last week (did we mention the hair?) And the entire class (well, no, not the entire - I am taking it because the Revolution is my favorite era in American history) I'm sitting there thinking up the best way to approach him afterward, what I could say, etc. I was totally going to do it, too. No, really.

But he beat me to it.

"How was your weekend?"

He asked me how my weekend was. I'm so mystified by the whole asking out process, the song and dance people talk about when all I've ever done was pass notes in class and tell a few loose-lipped friends I liked a certain someone. And all he'd done was ask how my weekend was, and we walked away with a promise of dinner.

It's such a rush to be attracted to someone like this again. I've mentioned the vibing thing I do, and he seemed to take my vocabulary (I actually say words like 'predilection' in everyday conversation) in stride, which is always cool. He took French before, too, and lived in Fletcher, the hall adjacent to mine, so there's some starting common ground right there.

So, yes. Excited, a bit nervous, but he seems laid-back which takes a lot of the potential pressure off. We'll see. I've got hopes.

Sadly, I do not, only extensive screencaps. They're discussing Challenge, obviously, but the screencaps would make you think they were actually holding a coming out conference. ;)
